Are you here to see Matt Perryman’s writing samples?
Let me tee that up for you:

Am I twisting your arm? Have I lost my fool brain?
Not for a minute.
Here’s why:
Imagine you’re in the year 2025. Large language models roam the internet spewing out thousands of words in the time it takes to blink twice.
And you, hiring freelance email marketers and copywriters, are still asking to look at writing samples.
Good news then.
With our friend ChatGPT, you can look at thousands of writing samples before the hour is out.
You can look at writing samples until your eyes bleed.
Is that what you want, to waste your afternoon looking at a machine’s text output?
I guarantee you that is exactly what you are doing if you hire freelance “writers” from Upwork, Fiverr, and most anywhere else online.
Do you feel better now? Are you more confident in the skills of your writer?
Look. I know there’s a reason you ask to see samples.
You want to know if this guy is what he says.
You want some signal to prove that this person can put together sentences and paragraphs in readable English.
Samples made good sense before generative AI came along.
But…
If you’re still demanding to see writing samples today, you can make it easier on yourself by going straight to ChatGPT.
Here’s a better idea.
You don’t ask for samples so that you can spend an evening or three wading through a foul tide of AI-prompted trash.
There’s something you’re looking for.
Something that is really bothering you.
Something that you want to know.
Instead of playing the samples game…
Why don’t you tell me exactly what you are hoping to see so that I can show it to you?
That’s a novel approach, I realize.
But time is the most valuable thing in the world to me. It should be for you, too.
I’m the kind of guy that cuts straight to the point.
What exactly are you expecting to see from writing samples?
Let me know and I’ll point you in the right direction.
