What would I do different?

February 18, 2026

That’s the question I ask every time a Shocking! New! Discovery! about health, wellness, fitness, and/or nutrition hits the headlines.

The headlines all promise that the game is changed forever and yet, year after year, it’s the same red and black checkerboard.

I understand the Science addicts too well. I once was one of them.

When you nerd out on your favorite topic, you want to go down all the rabbit holes.

But running the rabbit holes soon reaches a point of diminishing returns. Faster than most think.

Here’s two examples to think about.

First:

I explain to you the physics of internal combustion that make your car’s engine work.

You now understand why you can crank your car’s engine and go for a drive.

Do you drive your car any differently for knowing this?

Second:

An engineer gives you detailed blueprints showing the finest micro-details of the fuel injectors in your car’s engine.

Surely that’s interesting to somebody. Maybe even to you.

Does this knowledge of the fine details make any difference to your decisions once behind the wheel?

There are times and places when physical theory and engineering know-how are important to know.

That is probably the case not when I’m heading to the supermarket to pick up dinner.

Substitute “internal combustion” and “fuel injectors” for any biochemical, nutrient, signaling pathway, or the vast majority of badly-designed and low-powered human research into anything to do with nutrition and performance and you’ll understand the situation.

If you wouldn’t do anything different, if doing it different doesn’t make a difference, then it probably isn’t worth worrying about.

That’s the dumb-simple approach I take to making decisions for my clients and for myself.

Many folks shoot their own toes off trying to stay on top of about 3936 different variables throughout their day.

I say forget all that and focus on the small core of actions that matter most.

Simple, small, and straightforward.

We get it done, faster, easier, with less headaches, and leaving you with more lean mass, more strength, less fat, and improved health indicators than all the lost souls trying to “optimize” some dullard’s bio-hacking checklist.

If you want my help with that, I take a few new clients each month. But you’ll need to be on my waitlist if you want a space.
